The South African police arrested a foreign national identified as a Zimbabwean for allegedly killing her four-month-old baby by throwing him out of the vehicle along the R101 road north of Pretoria on Tuesday. The baby thrown off moving vehicle died instantly according to Tshwane Metro Police Department (TPMD)
The mother was nabbed after the tragic incident left her infant dead on the busy road that connects the Pretoria CBD and Hammanskraal.
How the incident occurred
According to TPMD spokesperson Isaac Mahamba, the woman got into a lift from Hammanskraal to Pyramid on Monday 3 March 2025.
She allegedly told police officers that she feared she was being trafficked and decided to throw her four-month-old out of the window while the vehicle was moving.
“She alleges that she panicked after the driver drove past the place she was supposed to get off in Pyramid.
“She started by throwing the baby out and was about to jump out as well thinking that she’s being human-trafficked.
“However, the driver later mentioned that he wanted to stop at the nearest Spar supermarket before he could come back and drop her off,” said Mahamba.
