Elton John is stepping into the world of high heels and higher drama — and fans are loving it!
The music legend has composed music for The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical, now officially out — and he couldn’t be more thrilled.
Known for his glittering career spanning decades, Elton has sold over 300 million records worldwide and is one of the rare artists to achieve EGOT status.
Now, he’s putting his signature sound to a stylish new stage adaptation of The Devil Wears Prada, based on the bestselling 2003 novel by Lauren Weisberger. The book, which inspired the beloved 2006 film starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, follows a young assistant navigating the ruthless world of fashion journalism under a famously fearsome boss.
Elton took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes look at the project, posting a video where he talks about the experience of writing music for the production. In his caption, he wrote:
“Writing The Devil Wears Prada: A New Musical was an incredible experience. It is one of my favourite films & bringing such an iconic story to the stage meant finding the right balance of energy, humour, drama and heart. I’m so proud of how the music captures the spirit of the show and helps give these unforgettable characters their voice.
“The Devil Wears Prada: A New Musical – Taken from the Original West End Cast Recording is OUT NOW! Stream it everywhere today,” he wrote.
