It’s a wrap!
Ariana Grande has officially finished filming Wicked for Good, and the emotions are definitely setting in. The 31-year-old singer and actress took on the iconic role of Glinda Upland in the upcoming movie, which is flying into cinemas on 21 November, 2025.
Wicked for Good is the film adaptation of the beloved stage musical that reimagines the Wizard of Oz story through the eyes of two witches.
The story centers around Elphaba, a young woman with emerald-green skin who faces prejudice and misunderstanding from the world around her. Played by the powerhouse Cynthia Erivo, Elphaba forms an unexpected but meaningful friendship with Glinda, a bright and bubbly student with big dreams of popularity. But when the pair encounter the mysterious Wizard of Oz, their paths begin to diverge—leading them down very different roads.
While fans count down the days to the premiere, Grande is already feeling nostalgic as she says goodbye to Glinda and the magical world of Oz. And honestly, if you have followed her journey at all, you know this role meant a lot.

Goodbye fam
Now that filming has wrapped, the countdown is officially on—just 49 days to go until Wicked for Good hits theaters, and fans are buzzing with excitement to see Ariana Grande shine in her biggest screen role yet.
To mark the end of this magical chapter, Ariana shared an emotional behind-the-scenes video featuring moments with the cast and crew who helped bring the 2-hour and 40-minute film to life. From rehearsals to final takes, the footage is a sincere tribute to the team effort behind the scenes. Because just like Rome wasn’t built in a day, this cinematic journey took time, passion, and a whole lot of heart.
In a touching caption alongside the video, Ariana reflected on the entire experience of filming Wicked for Good, writing:
“49 days until @wickedmovie for good ♡ these films were a tremendous undertaking in every way for all of us… mentally, physically, emotionally… floating home sleepily at the end of every work day feeling like “husks”, we would always say. I am so inexplicably lucky to have had the support of my bubble and the people within it. everywhere I turned, at any given moment, I was met with the warmth of a million suns, the sweetest hugs and hands to hold. Nuria, Gabor, Jess, Diane, Duncan, Georgia, and of course, Chris (and of course everyone else that is not in this video but will be in others).
“My Wicked family was a home away from home, sunshine when there was only rain (London), a good nights sleep when we hadn’t had any. our check ins throughout the day, our hugs in passing from tent to hall to set, our hand holds during last looks were like plugging my heart into a charger (which was much needed and appreciated on this second film)… and I love you always,” she wrote.
