JUST IN: Law enforcement teams apprehend money laundering suspects in Dr KK District

A law enforcement teams apprehend money laundering suspects in Dr KK District joint operation conducted by Rustenburg Detectives, Klerksdorp Crime Prevention, and Potchefstroom Flying Squad has culminated in the apprehension of four suspects allegedly involved in possession of suspected stolen property and money laundering in Dr Kenneth Kaunda District.

According to Col Adele Myburgh, spokesperson for the South African Police Service (SAPS) Office of the Provincial Commissioner North West, the operation, which took place on the night of Friday, May 17, 2024, resulted in significant breakthroughs.

Alleged players in the scheme

“The operation was initiated based on actionable intelligence, leading law enforcement officers to a residence in Kanana near Orkney. There, they arrested Sesing Tsabane (32), a citizen of Lesotho, after discovering chemicals commonly used in the laundering of dye-stained notes in his possession,” Col Myburgh said in a statement.

Subsequent investigations led the authorities to another house in Extension 5, Alabama, where a substantial amount of dye-stained money was found. Letlala Elias Qabano (36), Joshua Molibeli (34), and Molefe Abel Fusi (26), all hailing from Lesotho, were apprehended at the scene.
