For many, battling addiction is a daily struggle — Be it it’s alcohol or drugs, breaking free can feel impossible.

What often starts as something harmless can quickly take over, making it hard to imagine even a single day without it.

Singer Toya Delazy knows this all too well. After stepping into the South African music scene, where parties, gigs, and industry culture made alcohol a constant presence, she found herself caught in the grip of addiction. But instead of letting it define her, Toya made a courageous choice: she decided enough was enough. And determined to reclaim her life, she sought help and began the challenging journey back to the person she knew she could be.

Free from the chains of addiction

Now, recently, Toya celebrated a remarkable milestone — three years of sobriety. Sharing the news on her Instagram page, she looked back on her journey with gratitude and pride, thanking herself for the strength and resilience it took to reach this point.

Ever open about her struggles, the Pump It On hitmaker hopes her story will inspire others facing similar battles. She reminded her followers that recovery is possible and encouraged anyone fighting addiction to never give up.

Celebrating her triumph, Toya shared some sincere words with her fans, shining a light on her proudest moments:

“3 years of sobriety today. Life really does change, I never thought it could be me. I had a relapse along the way, but on the 23rd of October 2022, I made a promise I have kept till today.

“I did it for me, and I’m so proud of that decision, especially being in an industry that’s so party-focused. I’ve fallen in love with the clarity that sobriety has given me through all the challenges that have come up along the journey.

“To anyone trying to quit, I want to encourage you: it’s possible, no matter how many times you have to start again. Just don’t give up. I’m not better than anyone. Just grateful to still be here, clear, and growing,” she wrote.
