It’s been an incredibly tough week for comedian Kevin Hart, who is grieving the heartbreaking loss of his close friend, “brother”, and longtime tour manager, Nate Smith.
Hart revealed the devastating news on Monday, 17 November 2025, taking to his social media pages to let fans know that the man who stood behind him through countless shows and milestones had sadly passed away.

Remembering Nate Smith
Despite the heavy weight of the moment, Kevin found a way to honour Nate in the most Kevin Hart way possible — by turning his pain into something funny, heartfelt, and truly unforgettable.
He shared a video on Instagram from one of his shows, where he opened up to the crowd about his cherished memories with Nate. And while the audience could feel the hurt in his voice, Kevin’s natural humor took over, leaving everyone laughing through their shared grief.
Along with the video, Hart posted a final, emotional message to Nate — a farewell straight from the heart — and here’s what he wrote:
“I lost a dear friend today…. Nate you are a legend in this game of comedy… I am honoured to have been able to call you my road manager…. You taught me so much about this business… ur loyalty and dedication was unmatched…. U had a heart of gold man… Sometimes misunderstood by some but never by me. Thank you for all that u did …. I love you for life man. You will be missed. RIP NATE… One of the best to ever do it! Love u,” wrote Kevin.
