Nigerian singer, actor and public figure, Banky Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, recently celebrated eight years of marriage with his wife, award-winning actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington.
The couple, who married in 2017 in a series of ceremonies that dominated headlines across Africa, have since become one of Nollywood’s most admired love stories.
Their relationship first caught public attention when the pair appeared together in the blockbuster film The Wedding Party. Around the same period, Banky W confirmed that they had been close friends for years before realizing their romantic connection. They eventually tied the knot in November 2017, hosting a traditional ceremony in Lagos, a court wedding shortly after, and a white wedding in Cape Town that drew wide media coverage.
Since then, the Wellingtons have continued to inspire fans with their partnership — balancing successful careers, faith, and family life. Marking their 8th anniversary this week, Banky W took to his Instagram page to express his deep gratitude for their years together and the growth they continue to experience.
Penning his sweet message straight from the depth of his heart, this is what he wrote:
“8 years down, forever to go. So much more in love, so much room to grow. Someone said “I give them 6 months” but little did they know. The bond is unbreakable when the cord is 3-fold. My wife. My baby mama. My lover. I love you now, always and forever. Established in 2017. Finish line is eternity. Happy 8th Anniversary, baby,” wrote Banky.
