Behind every successful man, there’s a woman who not only stands by his side but shares his vision and dreams.

In Sheldon Tatchell’s case, that woman is his wife, Elverna — and the couple is clearly still in that honeymoon glow.

Sheldon, the founder and CEO of Legends Barber, has built a grooming empire that began with just a pair of clippers on a stoep in Eldorado Park. Today, Legends Barber is one of Africa’s most recognisable brands, boasting over 70 stores, 800+ employees, and operations stretching across South Africa, Botswana, and Lesotho.

Through it all, Elverna has been more than just a partner — she’s his “first lady,” co-founder, and unwavering support system. Their journey together recently hit another milestone, as they celebrated 14 years of marriage.

Happy 14th anniversary, Vee!

Not one to let such a moment pass quietly, Sheldon shared his feelings on Instagram, praising Elverna as the “Eve” God chose for him in the garden of life. In a moving post, he reflected on the love, support, and shared journey that has defined their life together.

Here’s what he had to say:

“11 years ago, I asked my wife to give me time to relaunch Legends Barber. I threw all our eggs in one basket — no plan B, no safety net. I remember telling her, “If this fails again, I will go work at Spar or Shoprite.”

“But she agreed. She stood by me. She saw the future long before I did. Today, everything we have built — every store, every job created, every life impacted — carries her fingerprints too. I thank her for standing by my side when all we had was faith. Happy 14 Years Anniversary Vee,” wrote Sheldon.
