American singer and global pop icon Madonna could no longer remain silent as the humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to escalate.

The Hung Up hitmaker recently took to social media to share a profound message addressed to Pope Leo XIV, pleading with him to visit Gaza and bring hope to its children who are caught in the middle of the conflict.

Her message comes at a time when the situation on the ground is growing increasingly dire. What the world once hoped would be a short-lived crisis has only intensified — and today, Wednesday, 13 August, 2025, marks day 677 of the ongoing war in Gaza.

Posting the message on her Instagram page, Madonna poured her heart into the words:

“Politics Cannot affect Change.
Only consciousness Can. Therefore I am Reaching out to a Man of God.

On Monday, it was my Son Rocco’s birthday.
I feel the best gift I can give to him as a Mother – is to ask everyone to do what they can to help save the innocent children caught in the crossfire in Gaza.
I am not pointing fingers, placing blame or taking sides. Everyone is suffering. Including the mothers of the hostages. I pray that they are released as well.

I am merely trying to do what I can to keep these children from dying of starvation.

If you want to help Please Join me in donating to the following organizations: @wckitchen, @womenwagepeace, @women.of.the.sun_, @pontifex,” she wrote.

Madonna’s prayer

The Borderline singer carried on with her deeply emotional message, with her words filled with urgency and compassion.

In a sincere plea to the Holy Father, she offered a prayer — asking him to bring his light, his presence, and his voice to the children of Gaza before more innocent lives are lost.

In her prayer, she pointed out that the Holy Father is the only one who cannot be denied entry.
