The younger Dr Musa Mthombeni

Dr Musa Mthombeni remembers his youthful side

You know, life has a funny way of surprising us — you never really know where it will take you. It’s a mystery we slowly unravel, one chapter at a time.

If you have been around long enough, you will definitely remember Musa Mthombeni — the bright, energetic kid who lit up our screens on YOTV, the beloved SABC 1 show that defined childhoods across the country. With his infectious charisma and effortless charm, Musa became a household name before he even hit adulthood.

Fast forward to today, and things have taken quite the turn — in the best way possible. That same young star is now Dr Musa Mthombeni, a respected Diagnostic Radiologist. But wait, there’s more — he’s also a happily married man, sharing life with Radio and TV Presenter, Liesl Laurie.

Feeling a little nostalgic, Dr Musa took a trip down memory lane and shared a touching post on Instagram, reflecting on his younger, more innocent self.

Here’s what Dr Musa had to say in his post:

“When I call myself young, innocent and humble, this is the person I want you to imagine. This was when I started my journey of youth, innocence and humility.

“This is before MxIt and Joe banker took all of our allowance money.
These were the days we downloaded music illegally and sent it via infrared to each other at break.
These were the days @andilencube used to speak strong English on Fridays on ONE. When he was still a DJ.

“These were the days you used to watch Dragon Ball Z and as soon as it was finished you ran outside to go discuss it for the next two hours with your friends. This was before you knew anything about debit orders. This was before they started playing with your heart,” he wrote.
