Yes! You read that right!
After stepping away from the music scene for more than 10 years, South African music legend DJ Sbu — whose real name is Sbusiso Leope WeNkosi — is officially stepping back into the spotlight!
Marking a major creative comeback, he’s dropping not one but two new EPs — It’s My House: Chapter 1 and It’s My Piano: Chapter 1 — along with a brand-new book titled Born 4 Purpose: Becoming WeNkosi.
His return arrives under his newly launched Powernomics Africa Creative Multimedia Label, an ambitious platform that blends music, books, and podcasts into one unified home for African storytelling.

A dual music comeback for a new generation
Picking up from his big reveal, DJ Sbu rolls out two distinct musical offerings, each speaking to a different side of South Africa’s evolving soundscape:
- It’s My House – Chapter 1: A 10-track House Music EP rooted in soulful rhythm, deep emotion, and spiritual dance culture — echoing the sound that cemented DJ Sbu as a household name.
- It’s My Piano – Chapter 1: A 10-track Amapiano EP showcasing his versatility and ability to adapt to contemporary African trends while maintaining his signature identity.
He kickstarts the rollout with two lead singles — Deeply (House) and Sondela (Amapiano) — offering something for both his long-time fans and the new wave of younger listeners.

A new book for a new chapter
And that’s not all — DJ Sbu also continues his creative journey with Born 4 Purpose: Becoming WeNkosi, a transformational book that chronicles his spiritual, artistic, and entrepreneurial evolution. Filled with insights on identity, legacy, African leadership, and purpose-driven living, it gives young people a roadmap to rethink and shape their own futures.

DJ Sbu speaks to Africa Jamz FM News
At Africa Jamz FM News, we love giving our readers a front-row seat to the lives of their favourite celebrities. So, we managed to grab DJ Sbu amid his busy schedule to get his thoughts on the new project — and here’s what he had to say:
“I feel excited, and I feel great to be coming back to music, connecting with the audiences, being back on the road, starting to take bookings, going all over the country to share my music and meet people, going on tour, and next year, promoting my book in different cities, different provinces, and ultimately outside of the country. With two books — one releasing now on the 16th of December 2025 about property investments, and the next one about my spiritual journey and my life journey, dropping next year on the 27th of February 2026, titled Born for Purpose: Becoming WeNkosi.

DJ Sbu’s game-changing ventures
Going further in our chat, DJ Sbu said:
“I’m very excited, so it’s a lot of music, two books, and German engineering meeting entrepreneurial flair and hustle with my collaboration with VW. That basically is groundbreaking. Usually, people just take sponsorships for cars and are excited over driving them, but nobody has ever come up with the idea to say, “Why don’t we collaborate and create our own limited edition cars that the audience will buy as they are?” So they come already customised — they come with nice megrims, low-profile tyres, tilted windows, and beautiful MoFAYA limited edition specs, which is a new journey for me as I embark into the car industry. I will be consulting and working with different car companies in the future.
DJ Sbu’s next move
To wrap up our chat, he added:
“For now, this is the beginning of, I would like to believe, a bigger journey with VW, and I’m very excited. I mean, it has been some time since I put out music or a book — my last time was in 2018 — and now, also this groundbreaking experience of our own limited edition cars. The most important thing is that all the proceeds I make through my limited edition cars, all that money will go toward educating students in 2026. At the beginning of the year, I will be helping them with registration fees; I will also be helping them with bursaries, whichever way I can, through the proceeds from selling our cars,” said DJ Sbu.
