Have you always dreamed of learning from someone with a wealth of experience in the fashion industry? Someone who has seen it all, created unforgettable designs, and knows what it takes to make it in the world of fashion? That someone is the one and only award-winning Fashion Designer David Tlale—and he wants YOU!
The House of David Tlale, together with the David Tlale Academy, has just launched an exciting Skills Development Training Program for young creatives—and they are on the lookout for 100 talented individuals to join!
This program will give you the chance to explore a variety of fashion and textile skills, helping you find your perfect fit while gaining hands-on experience. It will run three days a week over a six weeks period, giving you plenty of time to learn and grow.
If you are ready to turn your passion for fashion into real-world expertise, then this is the opportunity you have been waiting for!
What you will learn
Thinking of diving into this program? These are the skills you will gain:
- Basic Pattern Making
- Cutting and Garment Assembly (Sewing)
- Finishing, Pressing, and Beadwork
- Basic Business Management and Entrepreneurship Skills
Aim of the initiative
This initiative is all about empowering young South Africans, equipping them with hands-on industry skills that not only open doors to careers but also tackle unemployment, poverty, and crime—all while giving a fresh boost to the clothing and textile industry.
The House of David Tlale, together with the David Tlale Academy, are calling on government bodies, private companies, and passionate individuals to join them on this transformative journey—helping empower young talent and fuel growth in South Africa’s creative economy.
