It’s quick, it’s cheesy, and it’s guaranteed to hit the spot!

Whether you are craving something tasty after a long day or just looking for an easy crowd-pleaser, this recipe has got you covered.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of macaroni
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 500g minced beef (or any mince of your choice)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon of salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 can (400g) chopped tomatoes or ½ cup of tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of mixed herbs (or dried oregano/basil)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup of grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
  • ½ cup of milk (optional, for creaminess)

Method:

  1. Cook the Macaroni: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the macaroni according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Mince: Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until soft and fragrant. Then add the minced beef and cook until browned.
  3. Add flavour: Stir in the chopped tomatoes (or tomato sauce). Add paprika, mixed herbs, salt, and black pepper. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Combine everything: Add the cooked macaroni to the mince mixture and stir well. If you want it extra creamy, add the milk until combined.
  5. Add the Cheese: Sprinkle the grated cheese on top and let it melt. You can either mix it in or pop the dish under a grill for a few minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Garnish with fresh herbs (optional) and serve warm.

Note: This dish can be enjoyed as is, or with a side salad.
