How to make tangy honey-garlic chicken bites

Serves: 2-3

  • 500g boneless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-size chunks
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or any cooking oil)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon chili flakes (optional, for heat)
  • Fresh parsley or coriander for garnish

Method:

  1. Prep the chicken: Season chicken with salt, pepper, and a light dusting of flour — just enough to coat it lightly.
  2. Sear it: Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden brown on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make the sauce: In the same pan, lower the heat. Add butter and minced garlic — sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Stir in honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and chili flakes. Let it bubble for a minute.
  4. Coat and glaze: Return the chicken to the pan and toss it in the sauce until glossy and sticky — about 3–4 minutes.
  5. Finish strong: Sprinkle with fresh herbs before serving.

    Serve with:
    *Steamed jasmine rice
    *Potato wedges
    *Or a light side salad with cucumber and tomato for freshness
