Babes Wodumo is back—and she’s not just knocking, she’s kicking the door wide open!

The Gqom Queen made her grand return on Friday, 3 October 2025, with the drop of her much-hyped album Mabheshingo, and fans are living for it.

The Wololo hitmaker’s latest release isn’t just about the beats. It’s a deeply personal comeback, with Babes honouring the memory of her late husband and music legend, Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo, by including some never-heard-before tracks.

Taking to Instagram to make the big reveal, Babes shared a video and a powerful caption that oozed confidence and made it very clear: she’s reclaiming her crown and the spotlight is hers once again.

Here’s what she had to say:

“Went through all the phases of life.A queen knows when to stop and take time to take it all in.Everyone has been wanting to sit on the throne but the Gqom throne was locked and only the true queen has the key,now she has RETURNED TO UNLOCK the throne locks&remove those chains cause the QUEEN OF GQOM has RETURNED stronger than ever!!!,” she wrote.
