South African Gqom star Bongekile Simelane, popularly known as ‘Babes Wodumo’, is making a strong comeback in the entertainment industry with her new reality show, Wena Wodumo, set to air on Moja Love on 29 March 2025.

Just a week before announcing the show, she marked Valentine’s Day by sharing an Instagram post featuring a picture of herself with her late husband, Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo, who passed away on 24 December 2022, after suffering a stroke.

The couple previously starred in their own reality series, Uthando Lodumo, which gave viewers a glimpse into their lives in the public eye.

Babes Wodumo first rose to fame in 2016 with the release of her debut album, Gqom Queen, Vol 1, and became a household name with her hit song Wololo.

Doing it on her “own”

Since Babes Wodumo previously shared many aspects of her career with her late husband, including their reality show, she is now stepping into the spotlight on her own.

Sharing a glimpse of her journey, Babes took to her Instagram to unveil the trailer for the first season of her new reality show, giving Mzansi a preview of what to expect.

She captioned her post: “My journey is finally gonna be revealed in public. From the 1st day of being a widow. My crying days, misbelief, trauma, depression, conflicts and heartbreaks everything will be aired on the show.
South Africa this is my journey and welcome to my world #Wena wodumo @mojalovetv,” she wrote.

Drama! Drama! Drama!

Babe Wodumo’s reality show promises more revelations than Mzansi anticipated, with scenes exposing secrets about certain women who were allegedly involved with Mampintsha.

This is not the first time this topic has surfaced.

Shortly after Mampintsha’s funeral, Babes made headlines on Tiktok when she revealed that she had finally discovered the pin to his phone, leaving many in shock.

This is what she said in her video:

“I’ve finally got the PIN for baby’s phone. Thank you baby, because he loved me till the end. I’m going through y’all’s news,” she said.
