Our newlyweds from Isitha The Enemy

WATCH: We review ‘Isitha: The Enemy’s explosive upcoming wedding episode

On Thursday, 11 September 2025, E.TV hosted an exclusive media screening for its hit telenovela Isitha: The Enemy, giving invited guests a sneak peek at an explosive upcoming episode centered around a dramatic wedding. Set to air next week Thursday, 18 September 2025, the episode is being teased as one of the most emotionally charged yet. What begins as a picture-perfect ceremony soon spirals into chaos—delivering everything fans of the show love: betrayal, secrets, and jaw-dropping confrontations.

The episode: A wedding to remember (and recover from)

Titled Esihlahleni: Perfect Wedding, the episode follows Matshidiso and Bulelani as they exchange heartfelt vows in an emotionally rich ceremony officiated by Nomsa. The chemistry between the lead actors adds a layer of depth to the scene, making the opening moments feel sincere and moving.

But, true to Isitha fashion, peace is short-lived.

A drunken Poni-Poni stumbles in, setting off a chain reaction by emotionally releasing Tshidi in front of stunned guests. Just when it seems things couldn’t get worse, Chuma crashes the wedding and publicly accuses Siya of destroying his marriage. The tension peaks when Nolitha exposes an ongoing affair, leaving Velaphi—and the entire congregation—reeling in disbelief.

Adding further complexity, Solomzi moves in with Nandi, only to find himself the target of Nolitha’s flirtation. Chuma’s internal battle with faith and his personal demons gives the episode surprising emotional depth, grounding the chaos in real, raw emotion.

And as for what’s next? Producer Mpumelelo Nhlapo promises that the drama is only getting started.

The screening experience & atmosphere

From the moment I arrived at eMedia Holdings alongside fellow media guests and the cast of Isitha: The Enemy, the atmosphere was nothing short of welcoming. E.TV’s Publicist, Tshegofatso Kolotse, was the first friendly face we encountered—gracefully guiding us into the in-house cinema venue where the exclusive screening was set to take place.

Inside, we were warmly welcomed by Samatolo Sihlezana, E.TV’s Events Specialist, who greeted us with drinks, snacks, and the simple invitation to “grab a bite”—which, naturally, we did. The hospitality was sincere and effortless, setting the tone for what turned out to be a refreshingly well-organised media experience.

As the screening began, movie-style popcorn was passed around (yes, actual popcorn!), adding a laid-back, cosy touch to the event. We got to enjoy the upcoming wedding episode in total comfort—with the added bonus of knowing we would soon be speaking with the very stars on screen.

Work, work, and work!

Once the credits rolled, the real media work began. Interviews with the cast and producers followed, offering an insightful look into the storyline and what fans can expect moving forward. And then? Another food break (yes, round two), which made the experience all the more enjoyable.

Just as I was wrapping up interviews and shifting back into work mode, I was approached by Onkgopotse Baloi, E.TV’s Marketing Communications Specialist. His intention? Simply to introduce himself and get to know me better. It may sound small—but for someone used to the more transactional PR treatment, it was a genuine and unexpected moment. It’s rare to feel seen beyond your title or platform, and I truly appreciated it.

My dear readers, allow me to give a heartfelt round of applause to the trio who made this event exceptional: Tshegofatso Kolotse, Samatolo Sihlezana, and Onkgopotse Baloi.

This team didn’t just tick boxes—they created a space where media felt respected, welcomed, and genuinely valued. From seamless coordination to meaningful conversations and top-tier hospitality, they went above and beyond. Speaking personally, I felt at home. I had great chats, got all the access I needed, and walked away feeling appreciated—not just as a News Editor and journalist, but as a human being.

This is the kind of experience I hope to write about after every event—and thanks to this incredible trio, I get to.

Final thoughts

If this episode is any indication, Isitha: The Enemy continues to raise the stakes in the South African soapie landscape. The Esihlahleni: Perfect Wedding episode is a rollercoaster of love, betrayal, and emotional reckoning—guaranteed to spark conversation when it airs next week.

For longtime fans, this is payoff television. For new viewers, it’s the perfect entry point into the complex, captivating world of Isitha. In total, I’m giving this event a solid 10/10!
