As South African parents across the country continue to celebrate their matric stars, singer Karen Zoid is firmly on cloud nine — and she has every reason to be.

Karen’s son, Ben Francis, was part of the Class of 2025, and his results are nothing short of brag-worthy. The proud mom is celebrating after Ben achieved an impressive seven distinctions in his final matric exams — a milestone that’s every parent’s dream and a moment Karen is clearly soaking up.

The 2025 matric results were officially announced on Monday, 12 January 2026, by Basic Education Minister Siviwe Gwarube. Achieving a remarkable 88% National Senior Certificate pass rate — the highest ever recorded in South Africa — the Class of 2025 has set a historic benchmark, making this year’s accomplishments even sweeter.

Unable to contain her excitement, Karen took to Instagram to share the joyful news, proudly gushing about her son’s hard work and success.

And in true proud-mom fashion, Karen didn’t hold back — here’s how she shared her happiness with the world:

“With tears overflowing I would like to share my joy, my pride, my wonderful son Ben Francis’ great achievement of 7 out of 7 distinctions for his final matric results. A whopping 99% for design as final year mark!

“Thank you Ben. I have very few words today. You are my greatest inspiration. Always. YOU did this. My wonderful son. You always do your best. Thank you, thank you,thank you. Lief vir jou my kind. Dankie my engel. Droom groot!,” wrote Karen.
