Gqom Queen Babes Wodumo is really out here making us reach for the tissues these days.

Just last week, a video went viral of her hugging a fan who was practically in tears, overwhelmed to meet her favourite musician. Now, Babes has done it again—but this time, it’s for her lifelong BFF, Madanon, who recently celebrated his birthday.

Babes revealed that she and Madanon have been tight since childhood—long before fame entered the picture and back when her late husband, Mampintsha, was still around. Even after Mampintsha’s passing, Madanon remained that same loyal, loving friend, always by her side. That kind of unwavering friendship is exactly why Babes decided to shine a light on his private, behind-the-scenes support.

Taking to Instagram to celebrate her BFF’s special day, Babes poured her heart out, expressing her gratitude and appreciation for Madanon. And she did it straight from the heart—no lyrics, just pure, honest words. Here’s what she had to say:

“If I were to describe the kind of BFF & bro you are, it would take the whole day. People don’t understand why we call each other ‘Ride or Die,’ because we have come a long way. I still say you are a legend. They may not appreciate you now, waiting for you to be gone, but trust me—you are a legend. Promises we made since childhood, we’ve always made sure to keep them till today,” wrote Babes.

‘I love you’

Continuing her sentimental post, Babes went on to write:

“Valentine (your real name), thank you for always having my back no matter what. Sometimes it cost you friendships and relationships, but you have always chosen me over anything or anyone. I love you and appreciate you so much. Happy birthday, my nigga @madanon—till the casket, Danzinana,” wrote Babes.
