Lola on the inspiration behind Hello Goodbye

The single was co-written with producer Barney Cox and songwriter Joe Killington, with Lola expressing real excitement about the song.

Speaking about the new track, Lola shared:

“Hello Goodbye came from those small, often overlooked moments of connection. A glance or a passing interaction that somehow stays with you. It started from that idea and naturally evolved into something more universal about how these brief encounters shape us. As the single was written alongside Barney Cox and Joe Killington, it was a very natural process, starting simple and building into something more reflective, with a focus on light, nostalgic pop production that allows the emotion to lead.

“I love how honest and understated the song feels. It is not overworked; it just gives people space to feel something in their own way. I am also really enjoying the visual side of this release, creating videos and short-form content to share with fans, and being able to showcase how beautiful South Africa, my home, is through that,” said Lola.

Upcoming projects

Looking ahead, Lola shared her thoughts on what’s next, highlighting a focus on building momentum through new music and exciting collaborations:

“I am heading back to London for writing sessions and a video shoot, working with international writers and producers, and continuing to grow things both in the UK and beyond, and of course, bringing them back home when I return!,” said Lola.
