A relationship once described as “brotherly” has ended in shock and betrayal.

International DJ and Producer Jeremiah Matlawe, known for his stage name Arabic Piano says his former manager, Stanly Thulani Mthombeni, allegedly stole valuable personal and work-related items from his home while he was at church.

Arabic Piano reportedly discovered the theft on Thursday, 5 March 2026, when several prized possessions were missing. Among the allegedly stolen items are:

  • A work laptop worth over R40,000, containing important music projects and files
  • An Apple Watch
  • OVO clothing
  • Multiple pairs of shoes, including NOCTA shoes gifted to Jeremiah by Drake
  • Other personal and work-related items

Trusted friend becomes alleged betrayer

Arabic Piano says he considered Stanly a brother and supported him and his family in numerous ways, even welcoming him into his home. But after a recent trip to Spain, Stanly allegedly began demanding 50 percent of Arabic Piano’s earnings. When Arabic Piano refused, tensions escalated, leading to him asking Stanly to leave his residence.

Disturbing past warnings

Adding to the gravity of the situation, Arabic Piano revealed that Stanly had previously made alarming claims, including alleging that Arabic Piano had been poisoned while in Spain. Stanly also reportedly told Arabic Piano’s siblings that he would take care for them if anything were to happen to the DJ. These comments now take on a worrying significance given the alleged theft.

Police investigation underway

Authorities have opened a case to investigate the alleged theft. Arabic Piano has also indicated that other individuals may have had similar experiences with Stanly.

Continuing the music journey despite setbacks

Speaking exclusively to Africa Jamz FM News, Arabic Piano shared how the situation affected him and his plans moving forward:

“Thank you to everyone who has reached out with support. This situation has been very painful because it involved someone I trusted deeply and considered family. Right now my focus is on allowing the legal process to take its course. A case has been opened and the matter is being handled by the authorities.

“Despite everything that has happened, I remain focused on my journey, my music, and the people who genuinely support me. Situations like this are difficult, but they also remind you to stay strong and move forward with wisdom. I appreciate everyone standing with me during this time. The truth always comes to light, and I believe justice will prevail. Anyone who has information about Stanly’s whereabouts or who may have been affected by him is encouraged to come forward or report it to the authorities,” said Arabic Piano.
