Johannesburg’s beauty and lifestyle scene has a new addition worth knowing about.

Located at 55 7th Avenue in Parktown North, Nails Dunn Beauty Bar & Café opened its doors less than a month ago and is already bringing a fresh take to the traditional salon experience.

Founded by Germaine Dunn, the beauty bar and café combines self-care with a little café culture, creating a space where visitors can enjoy nail treatments and selected aesthetic services alongside artisanal coffee, freshly baked pastries and thoughtfully curated floral arrangements.

More than just a place to get your nails done, Nails Dunn invites guests to slow down, treat themselves and enjoy a few everyday luxuries under one roof. It’s a fresh addition to Joburg’s lifestyle scene, bringing beauty, good coffee and beautiful blooms together in one inviting space.

Where beauty meets everyday indulgence

And speaking of the new hotspot, here’s what founder Germaine Dunn had to share about bringing Nails Dunn Beauty Bar & Café to life:

“At Nails Dunn, I wanted to create a space that moves away from the rushed, transactional feel of traditional salons and crowded coffee shops. This concept was born out of a desire to bring beauty, lifestyle, and everyday indulgence together under one roof. There’s something special about bringing beauty, coffee, delicious treats and flowers together. It gives people a reason to stay a little longer, connect with one another and leave feeling good. That’s the feeling I want everyone to take with them when they visit us,” said Germaine.

Beauty, bites and blooms all under one roof

At the heart of the experience is Nails Dunn’s beauty offering, complemented by a café, fresh flowers and additional wellness treatments, making it easy to turn a quick appointment into a much-needed moment of me-time.

Coffee lovers can head straight to Bite Me Café, where Oprah Thompson brings the café experience to life with freshly prepared treats, delicious pastries and locally brewed coffee from Bean There. Whether it’s a morning pick-me-up, a mid-afternoon coffee break or a catch-up with friends, Bite Me offers the perfect excuse to pause and indulge.

For those looking to take their self-care a step further, Satori Beauty and Wellness, owned by Hayley Jill Newel, is also located on the premises, offering laser hair removal and specialised beauty treatments. The result is a convenient, all-in-one destination where guests can combine their beauty routines with a little relaxation and something delicious along the way.

Fresh flowers add another pop of colour to the space, with beautiful bunches available to brighten up a home or make a thoughtful gift. After all, flowers hardly need a special occasion.
