Vocalist Mawhoo is bringing her Secret Garden experience to Durban for the first time, with the city set to host a full-day celebration of music, culture, fashion, food and live entertainment on Saturday, 28 November 2026.

The upcoming Durban edition was previewed this week at a special media evening at Maison in Durban, bringing together members of the media, Mawhoo’s family and friends, and creatives from across the city.

Hosted by Zisto from East Coast Radio, the evening offered a glimpse into the atmosphere and creative direction behind the November experience.

Mawhoo connects with fans, friends and Durban’s creative community through music

Among those in attendance were Mawhoo’s mother, Nkosana Daughter, Orchid Musiq, Maison owner Benny Maverick, alongside friends, family and members of Durban’s creative community.

At the heart of Secret Garden is Mawhoo’s desire to create a more direct relationship between artist and audience through live performance and genuine human connection.

Mawhoo keeps the human element alive

As technology and artificial intelligence continue to influence the way music is created and experienced, Mawhoo is placing the live, human element of her artistry at the centre of the Durban experience.

“Even though AI exists and technology is changing the way we experience music, I still want my community to hear my voice and experience me authentically. I want to be close to my people, perform with a live band and give them an experience where they can feel the music and connect with me,” said Mawhoo.

A full-day experience beyond the stage

Mawhoo will headline the experience with a live band, alongside a selection of local and national artists. Rather than being centred solely around a stage performance, Secret Garden is designed as a broader lifestyle experience, moving from daytime into sunset and late-night entertainment.

Guests can expect gourmet food, premium beverages, VIP lounges, brand activations, fashion showcases, interactive experiences and curated photo moments, with the garden setting providing the backdrop throughout the day.
