Don’t Give Up on God as He Won’t Give Up on You. Think of How Far You Have Come in Life, Would You Be Here if God Gave Up on You?Don’t Give Up on God as He Won’t Give Up on You. Think of How Far You Have Come in Life, Would You Be Here if God Gave Up on You? Picture: Author's Own

When life gets overwhelming, the first instinct for many of us is to shut down.

Not just emotionally, but spiritually too. We stop praying. We stop expecting. And sometimes, we start believing that God is no longer listening.

It can feel like silence means absence. Like unanswered prayers mean rejection. Like delays mean abandonment. But life has a way of testing not only our strength, but our trust in God’s presence through it all.

When my silence was distance, God was still there

There was a time in my own life, when everything felt uncertain and heavy. I was tired in a way I didn’t know how to explain. I reached a point where I stopped praying because I felt like nothing was changing. I convinced myself that maybe God was not hearing me anymore.

So I stepped back. I became distant. My heart grew quiet, and anxiety slowly filled the space where peace once lived. And yet, even in that place, something was true that I only understood later—God never left.

Even when I stopped reaching for him, he was still holding me. Even when I questioned him, he remained faithful. Even when I gave up on him, he did not give up on me.

That’s when Isaiah 43:2 became real in my life—not just words on a page, but a lived reality. Through every fire and every storm, God was there, carrying me in ways I didn’t recognise at the time.

God restored me, not because I deserved it, but because that is who he is—faithful when we are faithless, steady when we are shaken, loving when we are lost.

And since then, I have learned something I will never forget: God’s commitment to us is not dependent on our perfection, but on his unchanging nature.

Be still, and know that HE is God

So if you are reading this today and you feel like giving up—on prayer, on hope, on God—don’t.

Whether it is financial pressure, joblessness, addiction, loss, trauma, depression, or anxiety that feels too heavy to carry, you are not alone in it.

God has not stepped away from you.

He never promised a life without storms, but he did promise his presence in them. And that is not a small promise—it is everything.

If he carried me through what I thought would break me, he will carry you too.

You are still here for a reason. And the same God who sustained you until today is not finished with your story.
